The Commission meets every third Thursday at 12 noon at County Square. The meetings are open to the public.
Purpose
- Establish local Historic Property Designation and design review.
- Protect, preserve, and enhance the distinctive architectural and cultural heritage of Greenville County as established by the County Historic Preservation Ordinance.
- Foster Civic Pride.
- Ensure harmonious, orderly and efficient growth and development.
- Strenghten the local neighborhood character, and improve property values.
- Encourage a general harmony of style, form, proportion and material between buildings of historic design and those of contemporary design.
- Have all the powers set forth in Section 6-29-870 of the South Carolina Code of Laws, as implemented by the County Historic Preservation Ordinance of 1999 of the Greenville County Council.
