CAMPBELL COVERED BRIDGE

Campbell Covered Bridge

The Campbell Covered Bridge, built in 1909 by Charles Irwin Willis, is the only remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. Spanning 38 feet across Beaverdam Creek on Pleasant Hill Road, the 12-foot wide bridge is composed of pine planking. The structure, believed to be named for Lafayette Campbell, was restored in 1964 by the Crescent Garden Club. An A.L. Campbell is shown in the record books to have owned the 194-acre Highland Township.
